Faculty Governance elections coming soon

Have you wanted to learn more about what is going on around the University?  Have you wanted to meet interesting colleagues outside of your department?  Serving on a university-wide faculty committee or on the Faculty Council is a great way to be “in the loop” about decisions that affect faculty, and being involved can facilitate vital cross-disciplinary connections. Plus, it doesn’t have to take much time!  The Faculty Council meets once a month for two hours, and many of the committees follow similar schedules.

Elections for the Council and many committees will be held in early April.  If you are interested in getting involved, now is the time to let us know, as the Nominating Committee will begin its work at putting together a slate of candidates very soon.

To learn more about the work of the Council and many elected and appointed committees, a good place to begin is by reading the Faculty Code, which gives complete information on eligibility to vote and serve.  A list of faculty committees can be seen here, and a list of current members of the Faculty Council may be found here
